Implied volatility in the options on Lionsgate Entertainment (LGF) is moving higher amid active trading in the options on the Santa Monica, CA movie production company ahead of earnings. Lionsgate reports tomorrow after the closing bell. The stock is down 28 cents to $12.71 today in active trading of 1.6 million shares (typical volume through midday is about 1 million). Meanwhile, 8,440 calls and 7,110 puts traded on the stock which is 3.5X the daily average. June $12 puts and calls are the most actives and levels of implied volatility in LGF options moved up 20 percent to 55.
Volume Signals
Delta Airlines (DAL) options volume is running 6X the (22-day) average, with 57,000 contracts traded and put volume accounting for 68 percent of the volume.
Console Energy (CNX) options volume is 3X the average daily, with 54,000 contracts traded and put volume representing for 65 percent of the activity.
American Eagle Outfitters (AEO) options volume is running 3X the average daily, with 27,000 contracts traded and call volume accounting for 97 percent of the activity.
Increasing options activity is also being seen in Sotheby's (BID), Lionsgate Entertainment (LGF), and Tibco Software (TIBX).
