Midday Unusual Options Activity Update - TOL, PHM, CTX, XHB, MSFT, AMZN, IBKR, WFC, USU, COF, BRCM
Implied Volatility Movers
Toll Brothers (TOL) implied volatility is higher. Like PHM and CTX, volume in the homebuilder is running much more than usual, with 23,000 puts and 7,400 calls traded so far. Meanwhiel, implied volatility is up to 49.5, from about 42.5 yesterday.
Implied volatility is also higher in Pulte Homes (PHM), Centex (CTX), and the SPDR Homebuilders Trust (XHB). Meanwhile, implied volatility is lower in Microsoft (MSFT), Amazon.com (AMZN), and Interactive Brokers (IBKR).
Unusual Volume
Microsoft (MSFT) options volume is running 2X the usual. 123,000 contracts traded and call volume accounting for 54 percent of today's volume.
Options activity in Amazon.com (AMZN) rose to 2X the usual, with 123,000 traded and put volume representing about 61 percent of the activity.
Wells Fargo (WFC) options activity is running 2X the usual. 345,000 contracts traded and put volume accounting for about 77 percent of the activity.
Increasing volume was also seen in Usec (USU), Capital One (COF), and Broadcom (BRCM).
