Implied volatility in TIVO options is moving up amid increasing levels of options activity. Shares have added a penny to $8.80. Options volume on the stock is 5,000 puts and 2,150 call options. The action has been in smaller sizes. The top trade is a 200-lot of Jan $20 calls traded at 20 cents per contract. However, January $11 puts are the most actives. 2,050 traded and it seems that premium buyers are driving the action in TIVO today, as implied volatility in the options on the stock has jumped about 20 percent to 75.
Volume Signals
Market Vectors Mining ETF (GDX) options volume is running 2.5X the (22-day) average, with 206,000 contracts traded and call activity accounting for 52 percent of the volume.
Hecla Mining (HL) options volume is 2X the average daily, with 49,000 contracts traded and call volume representing 93 percent of the activity.
Weatherford (WFT) options volume is running 2X the average daily, with 24,000 contracts traded and call volume representing 94 percent of the total volume.
Increasing options activity is also being seen in Blackstone (BX), ON Semiconductor (ONNN), and Barnes and Noble (BKS).
